Join Newport Tree Conservancy as we explore Bois Doré Arboretum.
The stately trees at Bois Doré Arboretum will impress even the most modest tree lovers, and remain engrained in the memory of those who have serious dendronlogical passions. Highlights of the collection include the alleé of pollarded silver lindens, perhaps the finest landscape feature of its kind in Newport. The signature beech cultivars, 'Atropunicea', 'Pendula', and 'Asplenifolia', are well represented, as well as other Newport classics including london plane, european hornbeam, and common horsechestnut. A host of rhododendron varieties, lilacs, conifers, and a massive weeping cherry provide the finishing touches to an outstanding woody plant collection.
