Bring the family and join us for a summer series exploring Newport’s local parks!
NTC is thrilled to announce three family tree walks this summer! During each session, we will explore the trees at the park, discover how they benefit us and other living things, and uncover other fascinating finds along the way. Throughout the series, participants will create their own field guides using leaf and bark rubbings. Those attending multiple programs will have the chance to compile their illustrations into a personalized field guide booklet! The aim is for families to use these homemade guides for future tree-spotting adventures.
Each program costs $5 per family. Families facing financial challenges with this fee are encouraged to reach out to us for assistance. We recommend children be at least 4 years old to fully enjoy the activities. To ensure a quality experience, each session will accommodate a maximum of 25 participants (including adults and children). Please indicate the number of adults and children when registering.
Parking: Local street parking available. Additional parking available at Bellevue Gardens shopping center (2 hours free with validation).
Meeting Location: Aquidneck Park playground
Registration is required along with a $5 registration fee.
This program involves walking/standing for the duration of the event.
Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions and bring water.
