Join us for an informative tree walk at Newport's beautiful Island Cemetery, where we will be focusing on the identification of standard landscape conifers.
Living Collections Manager Joe Verstandig will provide information on how to properly identify coniferous evergreens, using foliage characteristics, growth habits, flowers and cones. The walk will also feature discussion on Japanese maples, spring flowering shrubs, and invasive species.
We will be meeting at the center of the cemetery, near the circling road in front of the chapel. Please drive into the cemetery at the main entrance along Warner Road, from there you will see NTC Staff and signage to guide you to parking. Please be prepared to do a little walking.
