Seed Collection Walking Workshop

Learn from Living Collections Manager Joe Verstandig and staff Horticulturist Kristyn Woodland as they cover a variety of techniques for collecting and storing local seeds.

The heart of fall is the time when the fruit of many trees is fully mature and ready for harvesting. Fall-collected seed is stored over winter and then planted in the springtime. Joe and Kristyn will go over what to look for, harvesting and overwintering techniques, and some useful information to get your seeds to germinate. Please dress appropriately. Feel free to bring something to store collected seeds. Registration is required.
