The Preservation Society of Newport County presents a Free Educational Program: Iconic Trees of Newport II

  • Rosecliff 548 Bellevue Avenue Newport, RI, 02840 United States (map)

Impressive specimen trees are essential to Newport’s character and their loss threatens the city’s reputation as the “Eden of America.” This forum will explain the cause of beech leaf disease, new treatment strategies, proper beech tree culture and proactive tree planting to ensure a green future.

Following on the successful forum held last June, this presentation is an update organized by a collaboration among Bartlett Tree Experts, The Newport Tree Conservancy, the City of Newport, Salve Regina University, Aquidneck Land Trust and The Preservation Society of Newport County.

Speakers will include Natasha Harrison and Joe Verstandig of the Newport Tree Conservancy, Terry Sullivan of Aquidneck Land Trust, Jeff Curtis and Jim Donahue of the Preservation Society and research staff from Bartlett Tree Experts.

This program is free, but registration is required.
